DND-Do Not Disturb-How To Activate Do Not Disturb

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) launched National Do Not Call (NDNC, also called as do not disturb, DND) Registry to stop unsolicited Commercial calls.

If you want to register your mobile number at DND, it is quite simple, to get started, just send a text message. Write START 0 and send to 1909 and get rid from unsolicited commercial calls. Most mobile operators assures that promotional calls and SMS messages will be stopped after receiving your message at DND within comminge next 7 days.

SMS for DND have some options, it is useful to learn out about it. DND SMS have given categories.
START 0  This message will block all unwanted calls and mails.

START 1  This will stop SMS relating to Banking/Insurance/Financial products/credit cards
START 2 This will stop SMS relating to Real Estate.
START 3  This will stop SMS relating to Education .
START 4 This will stop SMS relating to Health .
START 5  This will stop SMS relating to Consumer goods and automobiles.

START 6  This will stop SMS relating to Communication/Broadcasting/ Entertainment/IT

START 7  This will stop SMS relating to Tourism and Leisure

Just like all other telecom service providers Airtel also supports Do Not Disturb registry. Please visit here and fill your mobile number to register DND.  Airtel Postpaid or Prepaid Mobile customers can SMS “START DND” to 121. After short time You will receive a Unique Reference Number by SMS, for your records. Airtel Broadband and Telephone Services customer can call Customer Care at 121 from your Airtel land line phone and place your request. You will receive a Unique Reference Number, for your records.

If you do not wish to be disturbed by unsolicited calls from Tata Indicom, simply SMS START DND to 1909 (toll free) or go here.

If you have registered on DND and receive still unwanted SMS or calls, You can lodge an complaint to TRAI and the concerned telecom service provider will be punished as given manner..

For First offence Rs. 25,000/-

For Second offence, 75,000/-
For Third offence Rs.80,000/-

For Fourth offence Rs.1,20,000/-

For Fifth offence Rs. 1,50,000/-

For Sixth offence Rs.2,50,000/-

Where and How to complaint

---

For complaint through SMS, customer has to send SMS 

COMP TEL NO XXXXXXXXXX;dd/mm/yy;Time in hh:mm short description of Unsolicited Commercial Communication" to 1909. 

Where XXXXXXXXXX - is the telephone number or header of the SMS, from which the UCC has originated.

Service Provider will take action on complaint and inform the complainant within 7 days of lodging of complaint. Customers may check registration status of his complaint through the link "UCC Complaint Registration Status".
